Barrister Olumide Akpata wins NBA election

                   

Barrister Olumide Akpata has won the presidential election of the Nigerian Bar Association which was held on Thursday. 

Olumide Akpata is a Partner in the Corporate and Commercial Practice Group of the Firm and he is currently the Head of that Group.

He is admitted to practice in Nigeria and has over two decades of experience in advising clients on various aspects of Nigerian Corporate and Commercial Law. He is also the Vice-Chair (West-Africa) of the International Bar Association’s Africa Regional Forum.

   Sir Alan Sugar has sparked a racism row with a tweet about Ian wright's suit. The former Arsenal star, 56, appeared on the BBC yesterday wearing a sand-coloured jacket and matching trousers during the televised Fa Cup final between Arsenal and Chelsea. Nigeria Central Bank Governor Breached The Quarantine To Fly Family To The UK

                 Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, used a private jet to fly his wife and children to the United Kingdom in violation of the closure of the Nigerian airspace during COVID-19 lockdown across the country. The Nigerian Government had announced that only essential travels will be permitted by air across the country but flight manifest sighted by SaharaReporters shows that  Emefiele used a private jet – a Global Express Bombardier 550 luxury jet with registration number N104DA – belonging to businessman, Aliko Dangote. The former King of Spain leaves the country over alleged corruption

Spain's former monarch King Juan Carlos has left the country amid accusations he had a £58.5 million stashed in an offshore account.  The Spain authorities opened an investigation involving Juan Carlos in a high speed rail in Saudi Arabia. The money was alleged to be given to Juan Carlos by the former king of Saudi Arabia King Abdullah. His destination is unknown but he said he would be available if prosecutors needed to interview him. The Spanish royal family website published a letter from Juan Carlos to his son King Felipe VI on Monday saying, "I am informing you of my considered decision to move during this period, out of Spain."    The report against the former King of Spain alleged that he transferred a large sum of money to a friend in what investigators consider as an attempt to hide the money from authorities.
