8 prisoners on death row have died of COVID-19 in San-Quentin State prison, California

Eight prisoners on death row are among at least 15 victims of COVID-19 in California's oldest prison as its outbreak worsens. 

San Quentin State Prison confirmed Tuesday the death of John Beames, 67, of what appeared to be complications related to COVID-19. 

The coroner is still to determine his exact cause of death. 

The prison is experiencing the worst inmate outbreak in California with almost two thirds of its inmates already infected.  

It had previously avoided an outbreak until several detainees from the California Institution for Men in Chino were transferred there in late May, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).

Since then, the outbreak has ravaged through the prison's inmates and has hit death row the hardest.

Over half of the deaths in the prison to this point were inmates on death row, which is the nation's largest.   

Beames became the eight death row inmate believed to have died from coronavirus as a result of the escalating outbreak, according to Associated Press.

Nigeria Central Bank Governor Breached The Quarantine To Fly Family To The UK

                 Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, used a private jet to fly his wife and children to the United Kingdom in violation of the closure of the Nigerian airspace during COVID-19 lockdown across the country. The Nigerian Government had announced that only essential travels will be permitted by air across the country but flight manifest sighted by SaharaReporters shows that  Emefiele used a private jet – a Global Express Bombardier 550 luxury jet with registration number N104DA – belonging to businessman, Aliko Dangote. The former King of Spain leaves the country over alleged corruption

Spain's former monarch King Juan Carlos has left the country amid accusations he had a £58.5 million stashed in an offshore account.  The Spain authorities opened an investigation involving Juan Carlos in a high speed rail in Saudi Arabia. The money was alleged to be given to Juan Carlos by the former king of Saudi Arabia King Abdullah. His destination is unknown but he said he would be available if prosecutors needed to interview him. The Spanish royal family website published a letter from Juan Carlos to his son King Felipe VI on Monday saying, "I am informing you of my considered decision to move during this period, out of Spain."    The report against the former King of Spain alleged that he transferred a large sum of money to a friend in what investigators consider as an attempt to hide the money from authorities.
