Group calls for the Presidency to take over supervision of Niger Delta

Host Communities of Nigeria (HOSCON) said on Monday that the issues of corruption facing the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC)  can only be resolved if it is been supervised presidency. HOSCON is an umbrella of communities in the Niger Delta that produces oil a gas. It is  
a grass root movement that advocates for right and privileges that are associated with Oil and Gas Exploration.

HOSCON, in a statement issued by its national director of media and publicity, Okakuro Monday Whiskey, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to execute the resolution of the Senate, asking that the already screened Board of the NDDC be sworn in immediately.

Commending the National Assembly for being bold and resolute in confronting the NDDC crisis, by instituting probes into its activities and facing up with the commission’s Interim Management Committee (IMC), HOSCON observed that NDDC will not be productive under the supervision of the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs,Senator Godswill Akpabio.
