Egyptian social media in influencer Manar Samy has been released from jail. She was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment earlier this month for posting immoral videos on social media and stirring up instincts through her online videos according to the legal papers. She was released on bail of 20,000 Egyptian pounds.

The Court found her videos to be offensive to public decency. Samy has about 200,000 followers on the social media app TikTok.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi regime has a non-tolerant approach to social media influencers and freedom of expression.
