Yahoo Yahoo boys are now role models - Diezani Alison Madueke

 Nigeria, former minister for Petroleum  Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, has lamented that internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo Boys, have become role models in Nigerian society.

The former minister made this known at a virtual conference while delivering a lecture  organised by the Ijaw National Development Group last weekend.

The former minister said, “The ones that have swag, the Yahoo Yahoo boys as my son would say; these in short, are the role models they are looking at. These are the ones that reinforce negative societal norms and values”.

Diezani warned that the new trend is a travesty of an unfolding tragedy for the country. She said an irresponsible boy will develop into an irresponsible man.

Diezani said there are no shortcuts to progressing in life, adding that only hard work could guarantee success.

“It affects not only our homes and our cultural and traditional values and structure but it permeates the very strength of our regional economy as well.

“The consistent hard work and mental vigour needed to build a solid regional economic base in the Niger Delta becomes completely eroded,” she stated

Nigeria Central Bank Governor Breached The Quarantine To Fly Family To The UK

                 Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, used a private jet to fly his wife and children to the United Kingdom in violation of the closure of the Nigerian airspace during COVID-19 lockdown across the country. The Nigerian Government had announced that only essential travels will be permitted by air across the country but flight manifest sighted by SaharaReporters shows that  Emefiele used a private jet – a Global Express Bombardier 550 luxury jet with registration number N104DA – belonging to businessman, Aliko Dangote. The former King of Spain leaves the country over alleged corruption

Spain's former monarch King Juan Carlos has left the country amid accusations he had a £58.5 million stashed in an offshore account.  The Spain authorities opened an investigation involving Juan Carlos in a high speed rail in Saudi Arabia. The money was alleged to be given to Juan Carlos by the former king of Saudi Arabia King Abdullah. His destination is unknown but he said he would be available if prosecutors needed to interview him. The Spanish royal family website published a letter from Juan Carlos to his son King Felipe VI on Monday saying, "I am informing you of my considered decision to move during this period, out of Spain."    The report against the former King of Spain alleged that he transferred a large sum of money to a friend in what investigators consider as an attempt to hide the money from authorities.
