Taylor Swift donates to a young girl to help her become a mathematician

Taylor Swift has made an impromptu donation of  £23,000 to a London-based student struggling to raise the funds to take up a maths course at the University of Warwick.

Vitoria Mario's online fundraising page details how she has lived in the UK for four years after moving from Portugal. At the time the Wildest Dream singer made her donation Vitoria had collected half of her £40,000 fund raising target.

But she is not eligible for maintenance loans or grants.

Vitoria said: "I was worrying too much about the money, what I have to do and if I have to look for a job. She actually made my dream come true."

The American singer, wrote a message on Vitoria's fundraising page as she confirmed her donation as Swift wrote: "Vitoria, I came across your story online and am so inspired by your drive and dedication to turning your dreams into reality.

"I want to gift you the rest of your goal amount. Good luck with everything you do! Love, Taylor."

Vitoria said her family could not afford to support her and she needed funds to help pay for her accommodation, a laptop, textbooks and general living costs. She said the approach from Swift had "come out of the blue".

The 18-year-old had written on her page: "Though my story is not unique, my dream of becoming a mathematician is not only a chance at social mobility for my family and I, but to inspire people who have been in similar positions to aspire to be the best version of themselves."

She added that she has always been "studious" and was unable to speak English when she moved to the UK in 2016.To follow her dream to be a mathematician Vitoria left her mother in Portugal to move to UK.

"Moving away from her was a challenge but it was a sacrifice worth being made in my family's eyes," she added.

She estimated she would need £24,000 for accommodation, £3,000 for equipment and £13,000 for general living costs including food, transport, gas and electricity.

Despite that disadvantage, she left school with two A*s and an A in her A-levels.

Nigeria Central Bank Governor Breached The Quarantine To Fly Family To The UK

                 Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, used a private jet to fly his wife and children to the United Kingdom in violation of the closure of the Nigerian airspace during COVID-19 lockdown across the country. The Nigerian Government had announced that only essential travels will be permitted by air across the country but flight manifest sighted by SaharaReporters shows that  Emefiele used a private jet – a Global Express Bombardier 550 luxury jet with registration number N104DA – belonging to businessman, Aliko Dangote. The former King of Spain leaves the country over alleged corruption

Spain's former monarch King Juan Carlos has left the country amid accusations he had a £58.5 million stashed in an offshore account.  The Spain authorities opened an investigation involving Juan Carlos in a high speed rail in Saudi Arabia. The money was alleged to be given to Juan Carlos by the former king of Saudi Arabia King Abdullah. His destination is unknown but he said he would be available if prosecutors needed to interview him. The Spanish royal family website published a letter from Juan Carlos to his son King Felipe VI on Monday saying, "I am informing you of my considered decision to move during this period, out of Spain."    The report against the former King of Spain alleged that he transferred a large sum of money to a friend in what investigators consider as an attempt to hide the money from authorities.
