H5N1 Bird Flu in 7 States in Nigeria

The H5N1 bird flu has spread to 7 states in Nigeria ie Lagos ,Kano, Edo, Delta, Plateau, Ogun and Rivers state. The Agriculture Minister Akinwumi Adesina confirmed it on thursday, and that it has spread to 21 commercial farms in seven states with more than 140,000 birds exposed to the virus.
He said "All the farms have been quarantined and decontaminated. Other locations in Ikorodu, Ojo and Lagos Mainland have already been quarantined, while awaiting confirmation," he said.
"Nigeria will successfully control the bird flu outbreak. We have successfully controlled it in the past," he added.

Nigeria Central Bank Governor Breached The Quarantine To Fly Family To The UK

                 Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, used a private jet to fly his wife and children to the United Kingdom in violation of the closure of the Nigerian airspace during COVID-19 lockdown across the country. The Nigerian Government had announced that only essential travels will be permitted by air across the country but flight manifest sighted by SaharaReporters shows that  Emefiele used a private jet – a Global Express Bombardier 550 luxury jet with registration number N104DA – belonging to businessman, Aliko Dangote.
