Nelson Mandela, former South African President died on the 5th December 2013. He died at the age of 95. He served 27 years in prison at Robben Island and later Pollsmoor prison and VictorVerster prison. There was an international campaign for his release which was granted in 1990. During his tenure as South African President he created The Truth and Reconciliation Committee to investigate past Human Rights abuse. He was also known as Madiba
