Crisis in Nigerian Law School

The problem in Nigeria Law School dey some how. what I do not understand is how 3,000 people can fail an exam in the school. Something must be wrong is either the teachers the terach rubbish or the students no jack well well. The Daily independent reported:

The crisis generated by the unprecedented high failure rate recorded at the Bar II examination of the Nigerian Law School is set to take an ugly turn as the affected students are accusing the Director General of the institution, Olanrewaju Adesola Onadeko, of deliberately frustrating them for no just cause.
Aside the students who are openly accusing the DG of being malicious, some staff of the institution are also gearing for war over what they described as his high handedness and lack of trust in their abilities to do their jobs.
For the first time in the history of the Nigerian Law School, over 60 per cent of students, who sat for the Bar II examination, did not graduate.
While about 179 had Conditional Pass, barely missing the minimum score in one subject, which prevented them from graduating, over 3,000 students were said to have failed outrightly.
Some of the students accused the DG of deliberately causing their failure to achieve what they are yet to understand.
Sunday Independent investigations revealed that the current imbroglio is caused by the refusal of the DG to announce the time table for the re-sit of the examination for those students on Conditional Pass, which should have been done in the last one month, after the Call to Bar of those who passed.
One of the affected students, who confided in Sunday Independent, said; “The DG is deliberately wasting our time. In fact, he is the cause of the current crisis in the system. By tradition, the re-sit examinations should be conducted within three months after Call to Bar, for people on Conditional Pass. Notice of the examination should have been made now, but nothing is happening.
“It is mandatory that the issue of the re-sit examination be brought to the attention of Council For Legal Education, which will give him (DG) the mandate to organise the re-sit exams, but he has refused to do so. He’s tying down the destiny of people for no just cause.
“We heard that he is planning to lump the Conditional Pass students with those who failed in the next examination, which is against the rule.
“We were also told that he’s looking for a means of ensuring that those on Conditional Pass pay the school fee again, which has never happened in the history of the Law School. We will resist it.”
Another aggrieved student told Sunday Independent that decorum might be thrown overboard by the students within the next two weeks if the situation is not remedied, as a protest march is being planned by the students to draw attention to their plights.
“It has never happened in the history of the Nigerian Law School that over 60 per cent of students won’t graduate and get called to Bar.
“It has never happened. It has also never happened that those on Conditional Pass and those who failed are made to take the examination again jointly.
“Since a season of the absurd is finally here, I think it will also not be out of place to increase the absurdity by students going on open protest at the Law School to draw attention of the necessary institutions to the rot in the system.
“I won’t be wrong if I refer to this current DG as a wicked man.”
