Shackles of the past is broken

The United States is about to have a policy change towards Cuba. President Barack Obama called it a new chapter in the US-Cuba relations. He said that the current approach is out dated. US Cuban ties
has been frozen since 1960 which have lead the US to impose a trade embargo on the US. The sudden change in relation may be linked with the recent prisoner exchange between the two countries. Pope Francis was involved in the secret negotiations for the prisoners exchange. US national Alan Gross was released in exchange of 3 Cuban intelligence agents. Alan Gross was imprisoned for 5 years in Cuba.
This new change in policy by the Obama administration has been welcomed by world leaders like Pope Francis, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, European Union etc. But Cuban exiles living in the US are against the policy change to Cuba. Many Cubans living inFlorida went to the street to protest against the new policy. Republican senator Marco Rubio said the deal is inexplicable and it did not address the human rights record and political system in Cuba.
