DIEZANI ALISON-MADUEKE ELECTED PRESIDENT OF OPEC

The Nigerian minister for petroleum resources Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke has been elected president of the Organisation of petroleum exporting countries (OPEC). She is the first female president of the organisation.  She was elected today at the on going 166th General meeting of the organisation. Her tenure of office is one year.
