The most valuable individual Award in the world given to President of Namibia

The President of Namibia Mr Hifikepunye Pohamba has won the The Mo Ibrahim Award. The award is the most valuable individual award in the world. The sum of $5 million is attached to the award. The award was set up by Mo Ibrahim to be given each year to the best elected leader who goverened his or her country very well.
The inaugural prize was awarded in 2007 to Joaquim Chissano, Mozambique's former president, who has since acted as a mediator in several African disputes.
The $5m prize is spread over 10 years and is followed by $200,000 a year for life.
