Foreigners arrested during the NSCDC Recruitment Exam

       Security operatives have arrested a Cameroonian and Benioise for attempting to participate in the recruitment test into the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. The foreigners were apprehended on Monday during the screening of candidates at the Computer-Based Centre in Ilupeju,Lagos. A statement by the Ministry of Interior Spokesman, Mohammed Manga, disclosed that the suspects had been interrogated, profiled and referred to the Assistant Controller-General, Zone A, for further action. The statement titled, ‘Aregbesola inspects Computer-Based Aptitute Test for recruitment into the NIS’, explained that the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, had conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the ongoing recruitment test at the CBT Centre, Hollaram Educational Centre, Akure, Ondo State. #EndSARS: Pastor Adeboye cautions protesters

                                The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E. A Adeboye, in a statement published on Wednesday night has told protesters to “comport themselves orderly” as they “express their grievances within the confines of what God and the law of the land allows”. Prophet Adeboye was reacting to the #EndSARS (Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), protest which has been going on for over a week in Nigeria. His reaction was contained in a statement on Wednesday night, signed by Pastor Johnson F Odesola, the Assistant General Overseer (Administration and Personnel). Adeboye said RCCG supports Nigerians protesting against police brutality and called for a restructuring of the Police Force. The statement added that “the church welcomes the disbandment of the SARS, and notes the establishment of a new outfit called The Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT), but advises that it should not become a case of old wine in a new bottle.”

Silvio Berlusconi test positive to COVID-19

  Silvio Berlusconi, Italy’s former prime minister, has tested positive for coronavirus. The 83-year-old is currently in isolation at his home near Milan, according to a statement issued by his staff. It added that he would continue to contribute to the electoral campaigns of candidates from his Forza Italia party at local elections scheduled for September. Mr Berlusconi has served as PM in four governments, holding the role for a total of nine years.

          Psychologist Robert Child, 37, admits that he murdered his mum Janice but denies he killed her for financial gain. According to Liverpool Echo, he is claimed to have had £32,000 of debt at the time of his mum's death. His mum's body was found locked in the utility room of her home in Woolton, Liverpool, on March 6. A Newton hearing at Liverpool Crown Court heard the day before his mum's body was found Child transferred £25,000 from her bank account into his. When police went to inform him about her death he was out buying a £14,000 Jaguar car. Giving evidence via video-link, Child's friend Philip Walker, who worked with him at the University of Liverpool, said he had the impression Child did not get on with his mum. He said Child forwarded him a message in February sent by his mum in which she suggested he stockpile food because of the coronavirus pandemic. Nigerian Navy arrests 8 rice smugglers

           The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Victory has arrested a 16-year-old and seven other suspected smugglers of 1,522 bags of foreign bags of rice in Calabar, Cross River. The Commander of NNS Victory, Commodore Idi Abbas, told journalists on Wednesday that the suspects were intercepted in two batches. Abbas said that the first group of four men were arrested on Sunday around Tom Short Island with a large wooden boat containing 1,482 bags of foreign parboiled rice while the second group was arrested on the 28 of August.                                                                        The Maiduguri zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, re-arraigned the Chief Executive Officer( CEO) of Complete Care and Aid Foundation, Aisha Alkali Wakil, popularly known as Mama Boko Haram, before Justice Aisha Kumaliya of the Borno State High Court, Maiduguri, on amended four-count charges bordering on conspiracy, giving false information and cheating to the tune of N6million. After the amendment of the charge the defendants was asked to take her plea.
